The second hour was
different from the first in that I got to talk to Dr. Song. She had some time
because she was letting her patient rest. Dr. Song talked about what we do at
the age, since it's our prime age, can affect how our bodies will be in the future.
She talked about a condition that EVERYONE goes through when they're older, menopause. Yes men can get menopause to, it's just not as commonly discussed as it is with women. She stressed how important it is to keep our bodies warm at this age because when time comes menopause can cause drastic mood swing, red complexion and sweating. Especially for girls when it's that time of month by eating cold things such as ice cream can create cysts in the future in the uterus during menopause.

The next thing she
talked about was the stress that we all experience and the food and water we
intake everyday. Of course that's something everyone knows, but the interesting
thing she brought up is how each of these elements can do great damage to our organs
and meridian channels and points. So she showed me a few points on the hand and
head that are great for reducing stress. I think the one point that is the most
convenient is between the index finer and thumb. As our conversation progressed
it shifted to my bone spur.
For about two weeks I've
had a bone spur in my hand around my ring finger area. The first I was at Dr.
Song's office she gave me a rock and some vinegar to help reduce it, which it
did, but after that it went back to it's normal size. So we both thought it was
best to draw blood from the area. This is another treatment that she uses to
take out the bad blood of the body, which creates new blood so it can flow
throughout the body and promote better flow of chi. She gathered her materials,
which were the cups I talked about and a small needle. She first disinfected
the area with alcohol, then used the small needle to poke three spots around
the bone spur, then put the cup over the spot and used a mechanism to suck the
air out of the cup. As she kept "sucking" the air out the blood came
out and she did this for about 5 or 7 minutes. Once she finished the bone spur
was almost gone, there’s still a little bit left, but it’s amazing to see how a
short treatment like this can make something a lot better.
This is very interesting. It really seems like you're getting a lot out of this project.
